How do you take care of your plants?

Depending on factors such as the season, the climate in the house, and the amount of light, plants need care. In winter, houseplants require less care; just like outdoor plants, houseplants do not grow or grow less, as it is a resting period. They generally need less water. However, central heating means that you still need to water even in winter, so be careful not to give too much water. Houseplants will be less affected by bright sunlight in summer during winter. The days are much shorter, so plants are in the dark for much longer. Winter is a great time to look for new plants online or to find nice pots, as these also contribute to the appearance of a houseplant.

Repotting houseplants

Repotting your houseplants can be done all year round. The best time to give your plant a larger pot is at the end of winter, at the beginning of a new growing season. However, if you acquire a new plant, it may be that it can immediately use a larger pot. You can tell this if the roots of the plant are coming out of the ground or out of the pot. Also, when the leaves of the plant turn yellow without any explanation, a larger pot is needed. Use good potting soil; good plants deserve that, and they will thank you by growing optimally and possibly blooming. Older plants need a new pot with new soil every two years. It is not always necessary to take a larger pot; assess that on a per-plant basis. New soil is important for the nutrients. The end of winter is a great time to also tend to the plants in your greenhouse for a healthy start to the new growing and blooming season.
